MATLAB PROGRAM FOR RATING SOILS BASED ON ENGINEERING BEHAVIOURS

Engineering behaviour of soils is an important attribute to be considered as the foundation or even construction materials for civil engineering structures. One critical issue encountered by geotechnical engineers in works predicting soil with a view assessing its suitability any given purpose. Rating based on their behaviours can achieved classifying into different groups and sub-groups similar characteristics. Soil classification systems usually involve use charts, tables curves, which no longer fashionable because it might very rigorous when many are involved. The software techniques simplifies whole process. This study developed algorithm form MATLAB program easy Unified Classification System (USCS), American Association State Highway Transport Officials (AASHTO), Plasticity Chart Indian Systems (ISCS), makes unique. samples used illustration were collected characterised depending particle size analysis well consistency indices.
